Le manifeste de l’iconoclaste en entreprise

Manifesto. I am fixated on iconoclasts at the moment. In fact, I have a bit of a thing for manifestos too. 🙂

The iconoclast’s manifesto

1. We only work on projects we are passionate about, not to please someone else. We do not need congratulations from a third party, nor outside praise, to keep us motivated!

2. We are not afraid of what other people think and we are immune to snap judgements and unconstructive criticism. We stay unruffled by attempts at manipulation and by « motivation » techniques!

3. Autonomy is our favourite playground and we want room to experiment with our ideas. We never fail, we either succeed or we learn! Which makes every experiment, successful or not, a win.

4. We have zero tolerance for bureaucracy and outdated management practices. We question established procedures and practices, and we work around them or ignore them if we judge that they no longer serve the common interest!

5. We do not respect « experience ». Respect is not prescribed by age or seniority; it is earned through action and integrity. We value authentic experience, the kind that inspires and guides, rather than the kind that dictates and holds people back.

6. Faced with a recurring problem that has already been solved, we still look for a new solution. For us, every problem is a fresh puzzle to crack and the solutions we try are only valid once!

7. Our thirst for learning is insatiable. We expect to be used to the full extent of our abilities and we look to improve constantly. Boredom and stagnation are foreign to us; we are lifelong students of life.

8. We refuse to be kept in the dark about your decisions. Curiosity is our compass and questioning is our building tool. For us, challenging the status quo is a sign of intellectual vitality.

9. We have little patience for the blind conformity of those who never question anything. For us, life is a path of evolution and growth, rather than a road of submission and stagnation.

10. Competition is a catalyst for excellence for us, an invitation to push our limits or to innovate differently. We do not see it as an opponent to knock down, but as a goad that sparks our creativity and our drive to outdo ourselves.
